Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of A Lady, Circa 1650 by Samuel Cooper was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 9,606.92) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Samuel Cooper achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Gentleman Called John Campbell, Earl of Loudoun (1598-1663), In Gilt-Studded Armour, Large White Patterned Lawn Collar; Sky And Cloud Background in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 66,000.00 (€ 97,940.68).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait Of A Lady, Circa 1650 von Samuel Cooper kam im Juli 2019 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 8.750,00 (€ 9.606,92) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Samuel Cooper erzielen.
