Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Test, 1997-2009 by Sam Durant was auctioned at Christies in New York in July 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 750.00 (€ 634.20). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sam Durant achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Can Anyone Hear Me? in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 47,500.00 (€ 43,205.38).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Test, 1997-2009 von Sam Durant im Juli 2017 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 750,00 (€ 634,20) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sam Durant erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Can Anyone Hear Me? im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 47.500,00 (€ 43.205,38).
