Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Window with No Floor I by Sabine Hornig was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,750.00 (€ 2,426.76). Admittedly, works by Sabine Hornig have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Treppe/Stairs, 2001 in April 2006 with an auction result of USD 14,400.00 (€ 11,406.84).
