Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Sabine Hornig achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in July 2015. In the First Open/ NYC auction, the work Fenster IV (Balons)/ Window IV (Balloons) sold for USD 6,875.00 (€ 6,234.13) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Sabine Hornig; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Treppe/Stairs, 2001 sold at auction in April 2006 with the realized price of USD 14,400.00 (€ 11,406.84).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Sabine Hornig erzielte im Juli 2015 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion First Open/ NYC wurde die Arbeit Fenster IV (Balons)/ Window IV (Balloons) für USD 6.875,00 (€ 6.234,13) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 3.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Sabine Hornig; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Treppe/Stairs, 2001 im April 2006 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 14.400,00 (€ 11.406,84).
