This artwork by Rudolf Stone achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May 2002. In the Sporting Art auction, the work The Meet; Casting Off; Full Cry; The Kill sold for USD 11,950.00 (€ 12,795.80) - well above the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Rudolf Stone; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The meet; Over the fence; In full cry; and The kill sold at auction in June 2002 with the realized price of GBP 8,812.50 (€ 13,630.94).
