In November 2016 Christies in New York held the auction Prints & Multiples featuring The Gilbert E. Kaplan Collection of Surrealist Prints, which included the work Blonde, from The Brushstroke Figure Series by Roy Lichtenstein. The auction ended at the price of USD 25,000.00 (€ 23,633.96), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roy Lichtenstein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nurse in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 95,365,000.00 (€ 90,290,664.65).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im November 2016 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Prints & Multiples featuring The Gilbert E. Kaplan Collection of Surrealist Prints durch, in der auch die Arbeit Blonde, from The Brushstroke Figure Series von Roy Lichtenstein zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 23.633,96) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Roy Lichtenstein erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nurse im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 95.365.000,00 (€ 90.290.664,65).
