Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2012 Christies in London held the auction The London Sale, which included the work The Pool of London, with St. Paul's beyond by Rowland Hilder. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,625.00 (€ 2,039.09) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Rowland Hilder have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Old Oast Houses at Chiddingstone, Kent in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 8,400.00 (€ 12,465.18).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2012 führte Christies in London die Auktion The London Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Pool of London, with St. Paul's beyond von Rowland Hilder zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.625,00 (€ 2.039,09) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Rowland Hilder auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Old Oast Houses at Chiddingstone, Kent im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.400,00 (€ 12.465,18).
