Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2019 Phillips in New York held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session, which included the work Green Grass, White Cat by Rose Wylie. It changed hands for a price of USD 93,750.00 (€ 84,088.26) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 70,000.00 – 100,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Rose Wylie - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Black Strap (Red Fly), which sold at auction in April 2021 for GBP 220,500.00 (€ 253,639.15).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2019 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Green Grass, White Cat von Rose Wylie zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 93.750,00 (€ 84.088,26) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 70.000,00 – 100.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Rose Wylie mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Black Strap (Red Fly) beobachtet, die im April 2021 für GBP 220.500,00 (€ 253.639,15) versteigert wurde.
