In October 2004 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included the work A Quiet Time 3 by Rose Hilton. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,015.75 (€ 1,461.94), 45% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Rose Hilton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in June 2019 with an auction result of GBP 5,625.00 (€ 6,323.33).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 45 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Quiet Time 3 von Rose Hilton zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.015,75 (€ 1.461,94) und damit 45% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Rose Hilton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Juni 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.625,00 (€ 6.323,33).
