In November this year Bonhams in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work St Mary's, Penzance by Rose Hilton. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,920.00 (€ 2,224.86), 60% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Rose Hilton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in June 2019 for GBP 5,625.00 (€ 6,323.33).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 60 % übertroffen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit St Mary's, Penzance von Rose Hilton zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.920,00 (€ 2.224,86) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Rose Hilton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im Juni 2019 für GBP 5.625,00 (€ 6.323,33) versteigert wurde.
