A top price for Roger Mayne - as previously expected
In November 2007 Sothebys in London held the auction Photographs, which included the work 'Footballer Punching, Brindley Road, Paddington', 1956 by Roger Mayne. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,900.91) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, 'Footballer Punching, Brindley Road, Paddington', 1956 is the most expensive artwork by Roger Mayne that we have observed at auctions so far.
