Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Girl, Islington, 1959 And Teenage Couple, Crystal Palace, 1961 (2 Works) by Roger Mayne was sold in the Made in Britain auction at Sothebys in London in September 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,386.65) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Roger Mayne - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Three Studies, 1950S, which sold at auction in November 2007 for GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,900.91).
