Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction: Online, which included the work Tract Town by Roger Brown. The price achieved of USD 81,900.00 (€ 68,547.04) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 70,000.00 – 90,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Roger Brown - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cloud Cover, which sold at auction in May last year for USD 252,000.00 (€ 234,833.66).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction: Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Tract Town von Roger Brown zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 81.900,00 (€ 68.547,04) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 70.000,00 – 90.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Roger Brown mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cloud Cover beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für USD 252.000,00 (€ 234.833,66) versteigert wurde.
