In December 2020 Phillips in New York held the auction 20th c. and Contemporary Art Day Sale - Morning Session, which included the work Looking for a Leveraged Buyout by Roger Brown. The »bidding war« ended at USD 132,300.00 (€ 108,176.61), 65% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Roger Brown - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cloud Cover, which sold at auction in May last year for USD 252,000.00 (€ 234,833.66).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 65 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2020 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion 20th c. and Contemporary Art Day Sale - Morning Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Looking for a Leveraged Buyout von Roger Brown zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 132.300,00 (€ 108.176,61) und damit 65% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Roger Brown mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cloud Cover beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für USD 252.000,00 (€ 234.833,66) versteigert wurde.
