This artwork by Roe Ethridge achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in November 2021. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale - Afternoon Session auction, the work Rockaway (90th street) sold for USD 13,860.00 (€ 12,279.61) - well above the upper estimate of USD 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Roe Ethridge - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Myla With Column, which sold at auction in May 2014 for USD 33,750.00 (€ 24,743.40).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Roe Ethridge erzielte im November 2021 bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale - Afternoon Session wurde die Arbeit Rockaway (90th street) für USD 13.860,00 (€ 12.279,61) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 6.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Roe Ethridge mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Myla With Column beobachtet, die im Mai 2014 für USD 33.750,00 (€ 24.743,40) versteigert wurde.
