Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Phillips in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Beach Umbrella by Roe Ethridge. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,890.00 (€ 8,412.19) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Roe Ethridge - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Myla With Column, which sold at auction in May 2014 for USD 33,750.00 (€ 24,743.40).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Beach Umbrella von Roe Ethridge zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.890,00 (€ 8.412,19) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Roe Ethridge mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Myla With Column beobachtet, die im Mai 2014 für USD 33.750,00 (€ 24.743,40) versteigert wurde.
