Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The First Bird by Rodel Tapaya was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April last year. The price achieved of HKD 277,200.00 (€ 33,515.50) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 200,000.00 – 400,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Rodel Tapaya - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Repatriated Bodies, which sold at auction in October 2020 for HKD 693,000.00 (€ 76,755.39).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The First Bird von Rodel Tapaya kam im April letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 277.200,00 (€ 33.515,50) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 200.000,00 – 400.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Rodel Tapaya mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Repatriated Bodies beobachtet, die im Oktober 2020 für HKD 693.000,00 (€ 76.755,39) versteigert wurde.
