This artwork by Rodel Tapaya achieved an unexpectedly high price at POLY in Hong Kong in June 2021. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art and Design Day Sale in association with Phillips auction, the work Capital B sold for HKD 604,800.00 (€ 65,696.96) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 300,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Rodel Tapaya; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Repatriated Bodies sold at auction in October 2020 with the realized price of HKD 693,000.00 (€ 76,755.39).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Rodel Tapaya erzielte im Juni 2021 bei POLY in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art and Design Day Sale in association with Phillips wurde die Arbeit Capital B für HKD 604.800,00 (€ 65.696,96) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 300.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Rodel Tapaya; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Repatriated Bodies im Oktober 2020 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 693.000,00 (€ 76.755,39).
