This artwork by Rodel Tapaya achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2019. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Afternoon Session) auction, the work Ang Sabi-Sabi sold for HKD 150,000.00 (€ 17,167.46) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Rodel Tapaya have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Repatriated Bodies in October 2020 with an auction result of HKD 693,000.00 (€ 76,755.39).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Rodel Tapaya erzielte im Mai 2019 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Afternoon Session) wurde die Arbeit Ang Sabi-Sabi für HKD 150.000,00 (€ 17.167,46) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 60.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Rodel Tapaya auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Repatriated Bodies im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 693.000,00 (€ 76.755,39).
