Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Rodel Tapaya achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in December 2020. In the Modern and Contemporary Art Afternoon Session auction, the work Voices in the Wilderness sold for HKD 562,500.00 (€ 59,331.56) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 260,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Rodel Tapaya; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Repatriated Bodies sold at auction in October 2020 with the realized price of HKD 693,000.00 (€ 76,755.39).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Rodel Tapaya erzielte im Dezember 2020 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Art Afternoon Session wurde die Arbeit Voices in the Wilderness für HKD 562.500,00 (€ 59.331,56) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 260.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Rodel Tapaya; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Repatriated Bodies im Oktober 2020 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 693.000,00 (€ 76.755,39).
