In January last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Prints & Multiples, which included the work The Oarsman by Rockwell Kent. The »bidding war« ended at USD 4,462.00 (€ 3,979.66), 27% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rockwell Kent achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gray Day in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 852,500.00 (€ 805,917.94).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 27 % übertroffen
Im Januar letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Prints & Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Oarsman von Rockwell Kent zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 4.462,00 (€ 3.979,66) und damit 27% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rockwell Kent erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Gray Day im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 852.500,00 (€ 805.917,94).
