Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Broken Circle/Spiral Hill by Robert Smithson was sold in the Contemporary Curated auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2018. The price achieved of USD 30,000.00 (€ 24,350.65) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Smithson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Alogon #3 in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 4,297,000.00 (€ 2,761,568.12).
