Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Rain Machine by Robert ParkeHarrison was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in December 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,772.00 (€ 2,266.56). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert ParkeHarrison achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Suspension in April 2015 with an auction result of USD 31,250.00 (€ 27,996.77).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Rain Machine von Robert ParkeHarrison im Dezember 2020 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.772,00 (€ 2.266,56) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert ParkeHarrison erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Suspension im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 31.250,00 (€ 27.996,77).
