Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Australian Cromwell Valley, Otago by Robert Johnson was auctioned at Sothebys in Melbourne in August 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 5,040.00 (€ 3,013.80) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Robert Johnson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Australian Bridge Street, which sold at auction in August 2007 for AUD 14,400.00 (€ 8,610.86).
