In August 2005 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Haystacks by Robert Johnson. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 7,767.50 (€ 4,733.58), 55% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Robert Johnson; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Australian Bridge Street sold at auction in August 2007 with the realized price of AUD 14,400.00 (€ 8,610.86).

Im August 2005 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Haystacks von Robert Johnson zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 7.767,50 (€ 4.733,58) und damit 55% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Robert Johnson; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Australian Bridge Street im August 2007 mit dem Hammerpreis von AUD 14.400,00 (€ 8.610,86).
