Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2007 Sothebys in Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works, which included the work Australian Farmyard With Cattle by Robert Johnson. The price achieved of AUD 3,600.00 (€ 2,152.72) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Robert Johnson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Australian Bridge Street, which sold at auction in August 2007 for AUD 14,400.00 (€ 8,610.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2007 führte Sothebys in Melbourne die Auktion Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works durch, in der auch die Arbeit Australian Farmyard With Cattle von Robert Johnson zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 3.600,00 (€ 2.152,72) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Robert Johnson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Australian Bridge Street beobachtet, die im August 2007 für AUD 14.400,00 (€ 8.610,86) versteigert wurde.
