In March 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art, which included the work Torso I by Robert Graham. The »bidding war« ended at USD 15,120.00 (€ 12,875.76), 26% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Graham achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Frieze: Figures I-A, I-E, I-F, Ii-D, Iii-D in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 390,000.00 (€ 289,898.16).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Im März 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Torso I von Robert Graham zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 15.120,00 (€ 12.875,76) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Graham erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Frieze: Figures I-A, I-E, I-F, Ii-D, Iii-D im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 390.000,00 (€ 289.898,16).
