Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Robert Gniewek achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in February 2007. In the Contemporary Art auction, the work Descuento Farmacia (Discount Pharmacy) sold for USD 13,200.00 (€ 9,977.32) - well above the upper estimate of USD 6,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Robert Gniewek; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Majestic Grill # 2 sold at auction in December 2020 with the realized price of EUR 10,965.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Robert Gniewek erzielte im Februar 2007 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Descuento Farmacia (Discount Pharmacy) für USD 13.200,00 (€ 9.977,32) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 6.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Robert Gniewek; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Majestic Grill # 2 im Dezember 2020 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 10.965,00.
