In September 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction Made in Britain, which included the work John Lennon, 1964 by Robert Freeman. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,500.00 (€ 2,836.28), 67% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Robert Freeman; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot With The Beatles, 1963 sold at auction in May 2010 with the realized price of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,393.65).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 67 % übertroffen
Im September 2017 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Made in Britain durch, in der auch die Arbeit John Lennon, 1964 von Robert Freeman zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.500,00 (€ 2.836,28) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Robert Freeman; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit With The Beatles, 1963 im Mai 2010 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.393,65).
