Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Covered Car, Long Beach, California, 1955-1956 by Robert Frank was auctioned at Christies in New York in May this year. The price achieved of USD 23,940.00 (€ 22,470.43) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Frank achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Trolley - New Orleans, 1955 in April 2013 with an auction result of USD 663,750.00 (€ 504,062.88).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Covered Car, Long Beach, California, 1955-1956 von Robert Frank kam im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 23.940,00 (€ 22.470,43) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Frank erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Trolley - New Orleans, 1955 im April 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 663.750,00 (€ 504.062,88).
