However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Richard Thompson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Pretty Cowboys In A Pretty Cowboy House, which sold at auction in September 2007 for USD 3,438.00 (€ 2,417.89).

Die Arbeit Palette Trout von Richard Thompson kam im Mai 2021 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 1.125,00 (€ 922,58) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 41%. Für andere Arbeiten von Richard Thompson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Pretty Cowboys In A Pretty Cowboy House beobachtet, die im September 2007 für USD 3.438,00 (€ 2.417,89) versteigert wurde.
