Auction result well in line with expectations
The work An officer of the 7th Hussars (illustrated); A soldier of the 88th Foot; and A soldier of the Royal Norfolk Regiment by Richard Simkin was sold in the British and Continental Watercolours including Original Book auction at Christies in London in December 2004. The price achieved of GBP 358.50 (€ 507.38) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Simkin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 10th Prince of Wales's Own Royal Hussars; and three others in January 2001 with an auction result of USD 5,287.50 (€ 5,680.60).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit An officer of the 7th Hussars (illustrated); A soldier of the 88th Foot; and A soldier of the Royal Norfolk Regiment von Richard Simkin wurde im Dezember 2004 in der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours including Original Book bei Christies in London versteigert.
