Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Richard Simkin could be acquired at Christies in London in March 2004 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Victorian including Scottish Paintings auction, the work Royal Scots Fusiliers changed hands for GBP 83.65 (€ 125.22) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 200.00 – 400.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Simkin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 10th Prince of Wales's Own Royal Hussars; and three others in January 2001 with an auction result of USD 5,287.50 (€ 5,680.60).
