Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2006 a collector was able to acquire the work Regimental Studies by Richard Simkin for GBP 360.00 (€ 527.00). This price was achieved in the auction British and Continental Watercolours at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 500.00 – 800.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Simkin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 10th Prince of Wales's Own Royal Hussars; and three others in January 2001 with an auction result of USD 5,287.50 (€ 5,680.60).
