Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A mounted officer of The Princess Charlotte of Wales's Dragoon Guards; and A mounted officer of the 20th Royal Hussars by Richard Simkin was sold in the Christie's Interiors auction at Christies in London in July 2008. It changed hands for a price of GBP 750.00 (€ 952.88) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Admittedly, works by Richard Simkin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 10th Prince of Wales's Own Royal Hussars; and three others in January 2001 with an auction result of USD 5,287.50 (€ 5,680.60).

Die Arbeit A mounted officer of The Princess Charlotte of Wales's Dragoon Guards; and A mounted officer of the 20th Royal Hussars von Richard Simkin wurde im Juli 2008 in der Auktion Christie's Interiors bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 750,00 (€ 952,88) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Richard Simkin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 10th Prince of Wales's Own Royal Hussars; and three others im Januar 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.287,50 (€ 5.680,60).
