Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Portrait of an officer of the 3rd Hussars; and Portrait of an officer of the 10th Royal Hussars in India (one illustrated) by Richard Simkin was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2008. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 800.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 812.50 (€ 1,020.70). Admittedly, works by Richard Simkin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 10th Prince of Wales's Own Royal Hussars; and three others in January 2001 with an auction result of USD 5,287.50 (€ 5,680.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Portrait of an officer of the 3rd Hussars; and Portrait of an officer of the 10th Royal Hussars in India (one illustrated) von Richard Simkin kam im März 2008 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 800,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 812,50 (€ 1.020,70) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Richard Simkin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 10th Prince of Wales's Own Royal Hussars; and three others im Januar 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.287,50 (€ 5.680,60).
