Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work A mounted officer of the 2nd Lifeguards by Richard Simkin was sold in the Christie's Interiors Including Paintings, Drawings & Watercolours From The Collection of The Late John Appleby auction at Christies in London in March 2011. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 800.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 875.00 (€ 990.06). Admittedly, works by Richard Simkin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 10th Prince of Wales's Own Royal Hussars; and three others in January 2001 with an auction result of USD 5,287.50 (€ 5,680.60).

Die Arbeit A mounted officer of the 2nd Lifeguards von Richard Simkin wurde im März 2011 in der Auktion Christie's Interiors Including Paintings, Drawings & Watercolours From The Collection of The Late John Appleby bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 800,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 875,00 (€ 990,06) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Richard Simkin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 10th Prince of Wales's Own Royal Hussars; and three others im Januar 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.287,50 (€ 5.680,60).
