In March this year Christies in London held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Green Quartz Circle by Richard Long. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 138,600.00 (€ 157,684.27), 73% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Richard Long; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot without title sold at auction in May 2018 with the realized price of USD 200,000.00 (€ 171,379.61).

Im März diesen Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Green Quartz Circle von Richard Long zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 138.600,00 (€ 157.684,27) und damit 73% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Richard Long; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2018 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 200.000,00 (€ 171.379,61).
