Upper estimate price exceeded by 53 %.
In October last year Artcurial in Paris held the auction Robert William Burke, which included the work A walk past standing stones by Richard Long. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 459.00 53% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Long achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 200,000.00 (€ 171,379.61).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 53 % übertroffen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Artcurial in Paris die Auktion Robert William Burke durch, in der auch die Arbeit A walk past standing stones von Richard Long zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 459,00 und damit 53% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Richard Long erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 200.000,00 (€ 171.379,61).
