Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled (Synesthesia) 10 by Richard Dupont was auctioned at Bonhams in February this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 5,100.00 (€ 4,810.41). Admittedly, works by Richard Dupont have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Them in November 2011 with an auction result of USD 35,000.00 (€ 26,016.50).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled (Synesthesia) 10 von Richard Dupont im Februar diesen Jahres bei Bonhams versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 5.100,00 (€ 4.810,41) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Richard Dupont auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Them im November 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 26.016,50).
