Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Chair/Chair (A. 19) by Richard Artschwager was auctioned at Phillips in New York in October this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 5,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 4,826.00 (€ 4,566.62). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Artschwager achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Interior with Sideboard I in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 1,272,000.00 (€ 945,514.01).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Chair/Chair (A. 19) von Richard Artschwager im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 4.826,00 (€ 4.566,62) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Richard Artschwager erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Interior with Sideboard I im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.272.000,00 (€ 945.514,01).
