Both stamped with initials, dated and numbered 'A.P. 10' and 'A' and 'B' respectively on bronze circular plaques on the undersides (one of 10 artist's proofs, the edition was 50), published by Brooke Alexander Editions, New York.

Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Phillips in New York held the auction Editions & Works on Paper, which included the work Bookends (A. 21) by Richard Artschwager. The price achieved of USD 3,556.00 (€ 3,364.88) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Artschwager achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Interior with Sideboard I in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 1,272,000.00 (€ 945,514.01).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Editions & Works on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bookends (A. 21) von Richard Artschwager zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 3.556,00 (€ 3.364,88) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Richard Artschwager erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Interior with Sideboard I im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.272.000,00 (€ 945.514,01).
