Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Spring Bouquet With Mimosa by Reuven Rubin was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 69,300.00 (€ 56,831.23). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Reuven Rubin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Road To Meron in December 2015 with an auction result of USD 634,000.00 (€ 583,847.50).
