Auction result well in line with expectations
In November this year Christies in New York held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Untitled Escape Collage by Rashid Johnson. The price achieved of USD 630,000.00 (€ 577,557.76) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 500,000.00 – 700,000.00. Admittedly, works by Rashid Johnson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Surrender Painting "Sunshine" in November last year with an auction result of USD 3,000,000.00 (€ 2,906,131.94).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled Escape Collage von Rashid Johnson zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 630.000,00 (€ 577.557,76) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 500.000,00 – 700.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Rashid Johnson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Surrender Painting "Sunshine" im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.000.000,00 (€ 2.906.131,94).
