Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Gemini by Randy Solon was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 31,250.00 (€ 3,611.58). Other works by Randy Solon have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in April 2011 by the work Pray Or Prey at HKD 81,250.00 (€ 7,060.93).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Gemini von Randy Solon im April 2015 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 31.250,00 (€ 3.611,58) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Randy Solon wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im April 2011 die Arbeit Pray Or Prey mit HKD 81.250,00 (€ 7.060,93).
