Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Amore De Equus (Love For Horses) by Randy Solon was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in December 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 12,500.00 (€ 1,429.59). Admittedly, works by Randy Solon have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pray Or Prey in April 2011 with an auction result of HKD 81,250.00 (€ 7,060.93).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Amore De Equus (Love For Horses) von Randy Solon im Dezember 2019 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 12.500,00 (€ 1.429,59) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Randy Solon auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Pray Or Prey im April 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 81.250,00 (€ 7.060,93).
