Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2001 a collector was able to acquire the work Mango Tree by Ramesh Sharma for GBP 493.50 (€ 797.57). This price was achieved in the auction Islamic and Indian Works of Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ramesh Sharma - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Deers head axe, which sold at auction in October 2001 for GBP 1,175.00 (€ 1,898.97).
