gouache heightened with gold on wood, black ground, painted and modelled in relief to resemble a Mughal dagger with ivory hilt carved in the form of a horses head inlaied with gold and rubies; a flint lock rifle, painted and modelled in relief to resemble a rifle with incised gold metal mounts; a quiver and arrows, painted and modelled in relief to resemble a leather quiver and arrows with incised gold mounts; and a bow case, painted and modelled in relief to resemble a leather bow case with incised gold mounts, each one signed -- 25.5 x 18cm. maximum.

Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ivory horses head dagger by Ramesh Sharma was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2001. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 822.50 (€ 1,329.28) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Ramesh Sharma have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in October 2001 the work Deers head axe was auctioned for GBP 1,175.00 (€ 1,898.97).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Ivory horses head dagger von Ramesh Sharma kam im Oktober 2001 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 822,50 (€ 1.329,28) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Ramesh Sharma konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Oktober 2001 die Arbeit Deers head axe für GBP 1.175,00 (€ 1.898,97) versteigert.
