Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction Indian Art, which included this untitled work by Rajendra Dhawan. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 6,250.00 (€ 3,954.44) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Rajendra Dhawan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Repetitive Breathing in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 18,500.00 (€ 23,532.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2008 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Indian Art durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Rajendra Dhawan zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 6.250,00 (€ 3.954,44) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Rajendra Dhawan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Repetitive Breathing im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 18.500,00 (€ 23.532,81).
