Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Rajendra Dhawan was sold in the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Including Works from the Collection of Mahinder and Sharad Tak auction at Christies in New York in March last year. The price achieved of USD 4,032.00 (€ 3,634.72) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Rajendra Dhawan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Repetitive Breathing in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 18,500.00 (€ 23,532.81).

Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Rajendra Dhawan wurde im März letzten Jahres in der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Including Works from the Collection of Mahinder and Sharad Tak bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.032,00 (€ 3.634,72) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Rajendra Dhawan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Repetitive Breathing im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 18.500,00 (€ 23.532,81).
